Pero’s meditative love for sustainable use of textiles has inspired the launch of its new home decor line, ‘pero home’. The renowned Indian fashion brand has ventured into the world of home decor with the use of archival fabrics and textiles, preserved for over 16 years of its presence in the fashion world. The collection features an array of beautifully crafted items, from quilts to curtains and throws. Founded by designer Aneeth Arora in 2009, Pero has always celebrated a distinctive fusion of traditional and contemporary styles. With ‘pero home’, Arora seeks to extend the same level of artistry and meticulous attention to detail into the home decor space. “So we keep moving, following the faint glow of belonging, gathering pieces of comfort wherever we find them— until someday, somewhere, a moment, a person, or a feeling finally lets us exhale and say, I am home. ‘péro is home,” read the brand’s introduction of its new venture on Instagram.

The collection is thoughtfully categorized into four sections: Eat, Sleep, Clean, and Live or Play, providing a versatile selection of products tailored for various rooms and occasions. Ranging from lightweight Chanderi and Maheshwari fabrics ideal for curtains, to sturdier cottons and linens perfect for bedding, each piece is crafted to highlight the elegance of Indian textiles. Arora’s dedication to the craft is evident in every detail, from the intricate embroidery to the carefully chosen materials.“There are places on a map, and then there are places in the soul. “Home” lives somewhere between the two. Every home has its secrets. We have kept ours for 16 years! Over our lifetime, we collected the textiles that were developed for every season for something we always wanted to do – ‘pero home’. The resulting collection is possibly the longest in terms of development, but each piece expresses the same joy and love that comes from our heart… our archival textiles that form the foundation of ‘pero home’, carry with them stories of belonging, memories and heart… drawing from the home of our memories, and DNA of p e r o with its roots in handloom, age-old techniques, embroidery, and upcycling… living reimagined through a lens of whimsy and warmth through ever-expanding archival textile vocabulary,” read the brand’s note on the concept behind ‘pero home’.
A significant highlight of ‘pero home’ is its strong commitment to sustainability. The collection embodies Arora’s passion for safeguarding traditional Indian crafts through eco-friendly practices. Instead of creating new fabrics, she has opted to repurpose existing textiles, minimising waste and breathing new life into previously used materials. This approach not only lessens the environmental impact but also infuses each piece with a unique narrative. The debut of ‘pero home’ represents a pivotal moment for the brand, broadening its horizons beyond fashion to cultivate a comprehensive lifestyle experience. With its distinctive blend of style, sustainability, and craftsmanship, Pero is set to make a substantial impact in the home decor space, too.
